The USO of North Carolina is changing and saving lives!

While the first USO facility opened in Fayetteville in 1941, the Jacksonville Center opened in 1942 and has never shut its doors. It is the oldest continuously operating USO center in the world. Today, we operate centers in Jacksonville/Camp Lejeune (1942), Raleigh-Durham International Airport (2004), Charlotte Douglas International Airport (2006), Fort Bragg (2008), a Mobile Center (2010), Fayetteville Airport (2011), Ft Bragg WTB Satellite Center (2014), and project the opening of centers on Camp Lejeune and Jacksonville Airport (2015-16).

The USO of North Carolina is a nonprofit, self-sustaining 501(c)(3) (not funded by the government or USO national) that relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to support our activities, allowing us to provide over 574,727 services to Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve service members, military retirees, troops in transition, and their families.

Please consider joining the 1941 Society, a special group of patriotic, community-minded people whose generosity helps support the USO of North Carolina, a most treasured and beloved institution, one that the troops trust and know they can turn to for help-anytime, anywhere. You join us in continuing to be by the sides of our military and their families every step of the way. When you accept this invitation to donate, you are supporting our troops and families with needed health and wellness programs, career transition support, family programs and wounded warrior assistance; you will be lifting their spirits by letting them know that their sacrifices will not be forgotten. You will receive special recognition as a member of this exceptional group, and a small token that you can wear with pride!

Across North Carolina, our 24 employees and nearly 800 volunteers spent 92 cents of every dollar donated on USO programs and services that had a direct impact on our Armed Service members and their families. We are rated a 4-Star Charity by Charity Navigator and rated a Gold Star Level on GuideStar, the two most widely recognized national charity information services.

USO of NC has four primary areas of focus that serve as force multipliers, augmenting or filling gaps in Department of Defense and military services' programs/funding:
