We are the Force Behind the Forces.
It's a straightforward sentence, but what do those seven words mean? Who are "We?"
We are the USO of NC, and we have been earning our role as the Force Behind the Forces since 1941 when we embarked on a mission of connection that continues today. For more than 75 years we have worked to strengthen America's military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their service to the nation.
We are there for the service members and their families from the day they swear an oath to support and defend this country, until they hang up their uniform for the last time. Wherever they are serving at home or abroad, the USO of NC is there, ensuring they can maintain their connection to everything they hold dear.
For our service members and their families, gone are the days of defined battle fields and easily recognizable threats. This global shift demands a military that is ready to respond wherever the need arises, whenever it arises. For these brave individuals, it also means traveling far from all that's familiar to serve in places they may never have heard of, like Djibouti, Africa.
But when service members get there, unfamiliar won't look so bad because home is only as far away as the nearest USO of NC center. And if their location is so remote or dangerous that civilian presence isn't allowed, we'll still be there for them through expeditionary support, because the USO of NC is the Force Behind the Forces – the presence that brings home to them.
But "We" is you, too. Every American can join Force Behind the Forces. Our service members and their families need all of us to stand together as they go into harm's way to defend our freedoms and the country they love so dearly. They need you to stand with their families so they know those at home have their backs and to make sure the USO can continue delivering on our mission by connecting every service man and woman to every comfort of family, home and country.
Our son was assisted by your organization when he was at Camp Johnson. Thank-you so much for being there for our military!
I donated in support of this campaign.
A special thanks to all our women/men in the military or have served their country. I'd also like to recognize the families for their support
